Prolong
What?
An initiative by and for people living with lung cancer or pleural cancer (mesothelioma) and their loved ones, who want to support each other and encourage interactions between patients by organizing various activities.
Goal?
Getting rid of the stigma around lung cancer and pleural cancer and bringing these diseases to the attention of the general public;
Representing the interests of our fellow patients in the broadest sense of the word;
Participating in various initiatives related to lung cancer and pleural cancer;
Providing correct and clear information about lung cancer and pleural cancer;
Contributing to research into treatments for our target group.
How do we want to achieve these goals?
We provide an information hub with reliable information, specially compiled for patients and their loved ones. It ranges from practical tips for daily life with a certain condition, to the latest medical insights.
We regularly organize different kinds of activities at various locations in Flanders. This enables patients to listen to each other, share their experiences and find support from each other.
We also contribute to research into treatments for our target group.
We bring lung cancer and pleural cancer to the attention of the general public.
We aim to build greater support and solidarity while working to break the stigma associated with lung cancer. One of the ways we do this is through this campaign.
